We are nearing
the biggest fundraiser of the year, our auction, which is just 5
weeks away, on December 3! This is a critical key in covering
the portion of our operating expenses that is over and above
tuition. We are delighted to say that we have begun to receive
some items, but many, many more are needed!
We need the help of the whole parent body in calling the
merchants listed in the packets that were handed out to each of
you at back-to-school night. It is critical that these calls be
made within this week so that merchants have time to decide what
they can give and we can get it in time for the event. The
letters explaining this fundraiser are on blue paper, found in
your packet, ready to give or mail to merchants. Please attach a
note with your name and phone number, and assure them you are
available to pick up the merchandise whenever it is ready.
Here is a sample of what you might say when making those phone
calls--IT'S BEST TO ASK FOR THE MANAGER!
"Hello, I'm a parent calling from Lifegate Christian Middle and
High School. We really appreciate your generous support last
year, donating to our Annual Scholarship Fund Auction. Our
auction this year is on December 3, and we were wondering if you
would like to contribute something again? You will receive a tax
deductible receipt for any donation."
If you have not made calls OR sent/handed out letters, and feel
for some reason that you absolutely cannot, please contact the
auction team right
away so we can reassign those names and not miss out on the
donations those merchants could make.
This is going to be a delightful night. We would love to match
or exceed our record of last year of $36,000. With your help, we
can do it!!
If you know of a business, ask if they would like to purchase a
table for 8 for $200. This will include advertising on the table
and in the catalog, and they will bring guests to fill that
table. We are also looking for businesses and individuals who
will contribute to a matching fund. Last year's matching funds
yielded $10,000 total!
With all of us working together I am sure this year will be a
huge success. Look for further information about volunteers
